Approval to expand Fieldhead Carr Primary School

At its meeting on 22 June 2016, Leeds City Council’s Executive Board approved the proposal to expand Fieldhead Carr (Community) Primary School by increasing its capacity from 210 pupils to 420 pupils, increasing the admission number from 30 to 60 with effect from September 2018.

Fieldhead Carr Primary School expansion proposal

Consultation events and meetings took place during January 2015 to consider the proposal to expand Fieldhead Carr Primary School from 210 to 420 pupils and to increase the admission limit in reception from 40 to 60 pupils from September 2018.

A report was submitted to Executive Board in February 2016 which sought permission to publish a statutory notice in respect of this proposal. Permission was given and this will be published on 29 March 2016

At its meeting on 10 February 2016 Leeds City Council’s Executive Board gave approval for the publication of a Statutory Notice to expand Fieldhead Carr Primary School from a capacity of 210 pupils to 420 pupils with an increase in the admission number from 30 to 60 with effect from September 2018. The consultation which took place at Grimes Dyke Primary School was also acknowledged, together with the fact that further school expansions will be required within this area as the East Leeds Extension progresses.

Consultation on the proposal to expand Grimes Dyke Primary School from September 2017

We have reviewed the comments made on the previous forum that was set up to seek your views about the suggestions made at a stakeholder event in October 2014 and have now developed a proposal for this area.

We have considered local demographics, the preference patterns of families, potential to expand on the site, highways issues, the location of any new housing and the comments from this forum.

We are now seeking your views on the following proposal:

Expand Grimes Dyke Primary School from 30 places per year to 60 places per year, with effect from September 2017.

This consultation will run from Monday 1st June – Friday 26th June at 4pm and during this time there will be drop-in sessions at the school where you can have your say or find out more.

The drop-in sessions will be held as follows:
Thursday 4th June 2.30pm to 4.00pm
Tuesday 9th June 5.30pm to 7.00pm
Friday 12th June 8.30am to 10.00am
