Statutory Notices

Following an extensive period of consultation in Guiseley to identify a way to provide sufficient numbers of primary school places a formal proposal has now been published. This is known as a statutory notice and is a 4 week period during which representations can be made to the local authority.

Due to changes in school status and changes in the legislation around school organisation it is the schools themselves, Guiseley Infant and Nursery and St Oswald’s Primary, who are the proposers and publishers of these notices. We are supporting the schools where appropriate to ensure the statutory requirements relating to these notices are met.

We recognise that a solution could not be found which would satisfy every stakeholder however given the pressures on school places in the area a solution is necessary. This proposal has the support of the children’s services and represents a significant investment in the area to ensure provision of good education places locally.
