Stat notice – Brudenell

At its meeting on 10 February 2016 Leeds City Council’s Executive Board gave approval for the publication of a Statutory Notice to expand Brudenell Primary School from a capacity of 280 pupils to 420 pupils with an increase in the admission number from 40 to 60 with effect from September 2017.

Further details about the Statutory Notice and dates of the Notice Period will be provided shortly.

An increase to specialist partnership provision at a school where provision is already established is not a prescribed change and would therefore not form part of a Statutory Proposal, however this was included in the consultation on increasing primary places at  the school to give Stakeholders the opportunity to express their views. During consultation support was expressed on the principle of extending the number of specialist places.

Following public consultation on the proposal to expand primary provision at Brudenell Primary School, a report will be presented to Leeds City Council’s Executive Board on 10 February with the outcomes of the consultation and to seek permission to publish a statutory notice.

Consultation on the proposal to expand Brudenell Primary School and to expand SEN provision from September 2017

Due to recent increases in the number of children aged 0-5 who live in the Hyde park area, it has been identified that additional school places are required in the area to meet the need for local families.  In developing a proposal to provide additional school places we have considered local demographics, the preference patterns of families, highways issues and the location of any new housing.

We are now seeking your views on the following proposal: To expand Brudenell Primary School from a capacity of 280 to 420 pupils and to increase the admission limit in reception from 40 to 60 pupils from September 2017.

We would also like your views on the proposal to expand provision for pupils with Complex Communication Difficulties including children who may have a diagnosis of ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) from September 2017 for a further 6 pupils (approx). This consultation will run from Wednesday 11 November 2015 to Tuesday 8 December 2015 at 4pm and during this time there will be drop-in sessions at the school where you can have your say or find out more.

The drop-in sessions will be held at Brudenell Primary School in the school hall as follows:

Tuesday 17th November 2015, 3:30pm – 5:00pm
Tuesday 17th November 2015, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
Wednesday 18th November 2015, 8:30am – 10:00am
