At the meeting of the council’s Executive Board on 21 September 2016 the decision was made to proceed with the proposal to increase the permanent admission number for Hunslet Moor Primary School from 45 to 60 from September 2018 increasing the overall capacity of the school from 315 to 420.

Hunslet St Mary’s Church of England Primary School statutory proposal and notice period

At its meeting on 27 July 2016, Leeds City Council’s Executive Board approved the publication of a Statutory Notice relating to the expansion of Hunslet St Mary’s Church of England Primary School.

A formal proposal has now been published. This is known as a statutory notice, which is published at the start of a period during which representations can be made to the local authority. The statutory notice period runs from 19 September 2016 to 4pm on 17 October 2016.

The proposal is to expand primary provision at Hunslet St Mary’s Church of England Primary School from a capacity of 210 pupils to 315 pupils, with an increase in the admission number from 30 to 45 with effect from September 2017. At its meeting on 27 July 2016 Leeds City Council’s Executive Board approved the proposed expansion of Low Road (Community) Primary School from a capacity of 140 pupils to 210 pupils with an increase in the admission number from 20 to 30, with effect from September 2017. This is subject to call-in which ends at 5pm on Friday 5 August 2016. Please follow the link here to access the draft Executive Board minutes. The next steps are for Leeds City Council to work with the school and other partners to agree the design and planning for the expansion. A separate planning process will now take place with relevant consultation.
